    Bavarian Pickelhaube

    Hello,

Hi folks, I have been off for a year and am concentrating on Imperial and WW1.
I sold most of my WW2 era things. I would like you to see my latest Bavarian. Gilt is not present but a very nice helmet never the less. Nice interior and exterior. I have another as well, seems we see a lot of Prussian and Bavarian.

    I need better light.

Hard to find in this condition anymore. A beauty. I think Prussia & Bavaria had the most troops under arms of all the German states.

Very nice! What is the Kokarde for--is this a Beamter? I'm good with basic wartime Enlisted stuff, but these odd variants get me. Would like to hear more. Wonderful find!

                a very nice one!
if it has had a golden finish or some gilt left, it may be a bavarian pickelhaube for 1st 3rd 5th or 7th Chevauleger-Regiment (light cavalry). Please take a close look if the remaining finish is golden or silver to be sure.

counting in numbers, bavarian pickelhaubes are quite often to find. honestly, I like them very much as they have a big, well looking emblem. you can still find the bavarian lion and rhombus/diamond nowadays in a lot of designs, making it an important part of tradition which did not die with the end of the imperial german era (in comarison to the prussian eagle).

                regards
                Stefan

                  Hello

Yes, it is gold gilt, or rather was. Thanks for looking and my regards to all my fellow Germans. I am longing to come back, last visit 1984. Would like to see Kalkriese.
