    Reserve Hat Rah

First one of these Swagger stick/cane I have ever owned. It is a little over 34 inches long and the whole stick part is covered in the red, black and white patterned material with a metal tip. The top has four sides with a soldier, a sailor, what I believe is Emperor Wilhelm II and a panel with a working compass. Around the pommel is Reserve Hat Rah. The top of the pommel has the name of the seaside town Wilhelmshave and a Kriegsmarine shoulder strap.

The third word is actually "Ruh'". "Reserve hat Ruh' " is a traditional saying.

That is the shoulder board of a deck officer (NCO).....nothing to do with the Kriegsmarine (name of the post-WWI navy).

I let that slide as I was already very happy with the fact that Kriegsmarine was spelled correctly as a lot of Americans seem to think that it is actually the Kreigsmarine.

I didn’t know the Imperial Navy wasn’t called Kriegsmarine. Learned something new. I have a lot of Imperial items but very few Imperial Navy. A couple of buckles. The guy I got this from had another one but the pommel was broken in half. The shaft part looked fine. If someone has a loose pommel they could be matched them up.

I believe the imperial navy was called the Kaiserliche-Marine. I've collected imperial navy for many years.

I have wondered why the crown on the Navy buckle is so different than the Army buckle?
