          Hello,

I don't own any period photos of this mask (I don't collect post-1918), but there is one here, http://histomil.com/viewtopic.php?t=5730&start=10. It's shown in photo number 19. This longer can was made from a M17 or M18 can by extending it to fit the larger postwar model gas mask and filter.

Basically this was an extended/grafted WWI Gasmaskendose put to use in the Reichswehr. They also used a canvas bag. I don't quite know the ins and outs of who and when for the can or bag. My limited reference photos from the era do not show it worn.

Looks about the same as one a friend has on the same Gasmaskendose.
