    Prussian Artillery Cap

I am considering this cap for purchase. Does it look like an EM, NCO or Offizier cap? What would indicate which it is? Thanks for the help.

Artillery? Paul, what color cap band does the artillery wear? The Kokarde, are they two-piece officer, or one-piece Mannschaften? My collecting paradigm, is totally ignore what the dealer says it is, and look at what it is. But it is a very nice little cap. Tony

I'm not an expert on the various German caps, but let me take a crack at this one. This is an infantry Mannschaften (other-ranks) cap. The red band and piping indicate infantry, while a black band would indicate artillery.

Darn, I screwed up! I feel like a dope. I got confused by the blue. A black band is artillery and red is infantry, I know that. The cockades look like one piece. The hat actually comes with the original box and looks really cool. I'll take a cloer look at it. Thanks for the help.

Dealers have a slight knowledge of 3rd Reich and assume the same rules hold backwards into Imperial.
