    Bavarian cavalry officer's cap

An officer's peaked cap for Bavarian cavalry, in their unique shade of "steel green."
The crimson band & piping was used by both Ulan regiments, and the 1st & 2nd Chevaux Leger regiments.
It's in great condition for a 100 year old cap.
Thanks to Karl S for the photos.

          Super cap Bob!

As you say, amazing that these 100 plus year old caps can still be found in this condition.

Bob, fantastic score--like Ben said, these pre-war Dunkelblau caps have so much more to offer than their (more proletarian) TR counterparts.

Thanks for the kind comments. I picked up this cap from an online auction, where, for whatever reason, no one else bid. There were quite a few other Imperial headgear for sale, so perhaps it fell through the cracks.
Imperial cavalry caps are what I am attempting to add to my modest collection, as they are, of course, by far the most colorful of the era.
