Missed out on a couple of buckles

I missed out on a couple of buckles lately.

First I want to say that neither of these buckles belong to me. They both appeared on the market this year, and unfortunately I missed both of them. I was "asleep at the wheel" on the first one shown that has lots of surface rust, and missed it coming onto the market entirely. I only stumbled onto it after it had been sold to someone else. I was outbid on the second one shown that is in far nicer condition.

Needless to say, the Model 1915 one-piece steel construction Mecklenburg-Strelitz buckle has to be a top contender for the "Holy Grail" of Imperial German buckle collecting.

I've never seen one of these buckles in person, only a handful of photos of a few examples. I stumbled onto a period photo of one being worn, which I feel extremely lucky to have found in the last couple of years.

I hope that I will be fortunate one day to find one of these buckles for my collection.

I was very lucky to find a photo a couple of years ago of a Mecklenburg Strelitz soldier wearing one of these M15 examples.

I have two Altona leather working companies on my master list, both of which I have recorded as making leather buckle tabs dated 1915.

Both were on Prussian buckles. Of the Mecklenburg buckles I have seen with tabs, all but one tab were made outside of Mecklenburg. The one exception is,

A. Krüger Rehna i.M. (im Mecklenburg)

Nice and indeed über rare buckles the one on the second photo was sold for 2676 euros i gave myself a good opportunity for around 1000 euros i was so wrong

My M15 Schwerin buckle has the "A. Krüger Rehna i.M." (im Mecklenburg) mark on the tab.

Yes, I thought that I had lost my sanity in going as high as I did.

I also have a "Mecklenburg-Schwerin" as seen in post number 7, the maker on that leather tab is "A. Krüger Rehna i.M. 916",
