Comb and rear. The crazing appears far worse due to the camera flash.

Liner. It is stamped "CLEMEN" inside the brass fitting on the peak. There appears to be an ink dome stamp just in front of the spike fitting plate inside but it's too faint to discern.

I know it's nothing particularly rare to you haube guys but it's my first one and I'm really pleased with it. I'd just like to thank Tony, (and of course Kaiser), for pointing this one out to me. I asked Tony's advice, being unsure of this area of collecting and he took the time to locate one for me and let me know of it's whereabouts. Cheers Tony. I must say that since switching to Imperial some time ago I've found the Imperial forums to be the most friendly and helpful on the site.

Congratulations! It is definately a keeper. Although not "particularly rare", IMO the condition of your helmet makes it uncommon. Unit stampings, proper cockades and chinstrap add the "bells and whistles" to your great helmet. I'm glad Tony was able to steer you the right way. There is so much high priced cr*p out there right now...

              Regards

              Dave

Dave, Rob, thanks for the words of encouragement. I've wanted one of these for a long time. It's made a realy nice centre piece for my Imperial EK's and other bits.

That is very good advice. I will take common but pristine (and correct) over rare and destroyed any day. I think this is everything a guy could hope for in a first Pickelhaube. In particular, I am very fond of issue stamps. Way to go Glenn!

                            Excellent

Great one Glenn [img][/img] I\'ve been after one of these too for a while but have yet to strike gold.

I assume I am like you I would love just to have a good representative example.

Glad to see you picked one up & thanks for showing

Thanks chaps. I thought I just wanted one representative example Craig too. Trouble is I'm getting so much pleasure from it and from researching the subject I've a feeling I'm going to get more. I purely collected Imperial EK's having switched completely from TR some time ago, but I think just EK's and haubes is not too excessive is it?
