M16 ET64 - square dip?

one of my last catch.
Is it a square dip?
If so i`m confused, because i thougt squqre dip are very early helmets - but here, with an 17-liner???

Yes, an original square-dip... Congrats. Here's a couple pictures of mine with original early non-regulation camo. These are one of my favorite WWI German helmets, second only to the ECO.

This is a really good point. The helmet has factory applied acceptance stamps - it's not a workshop reissue paint job. I've never seen both the AK and the shell size ink stamps on the very early M16 helmets. The liner looks like it was issued with this helmet, yet it's a square dip for sure. Very odd. I think it's possible that an old square dip was somehow overlooked and eventually put back into the paint assembly line sometime in 1917.
