    WWI Vet painted helmet?

    Hello everyone!

Today I come accross with this helmet. Probably a Vet work, not sure... could be a later thing? Nevertheless painting is well done and shows age...

Looking forward to hear from the experts here.

    Many thanks in advance!

I would agree... post war Veteran painted. I like it!

Can you post more pictures of it please... to include the inside.

Was this done by a German vet or Allied vet?

My thoughts are these helmets were done by the locals for the post war sale to the occupation troops.

Any truth to this statement - KAMERAD - Used by German soldiers in World War I as a cry of surrender.
