Help needed on named M16 camouflaged helmet. Unit marked.

I just picked up this nice M16 camouflaged helmet from an estate sale.

I am wonder if anyone can help me identify the unit it was from and if possible, make out the name of the owner.

The unit looks like 12/153 to me, but I have no idea what that equates to as far as a unit designation.

The helmet is a nice M16 with an early brass chinstrap.

If it is 153 then it could be part of the 8th Division: http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/8._Division_(Alte_Armee)

Very nice helmet. I like the mud packed ventilator lugs.

The numbers would mean the 12th company of Infantry Regt. 153. Unfortunately the images of the name are a little fuzzy and there is a reflection problem so that it is not quite possible to read the name from what is shown. I think it ends in "er". Better images would help.

I have taken better images, but for some reason, I can not get them to upload. I tried two different cameras. Must be my computer.

            Thanks for the unit information.

I will try better photos later.

I can't add any more information but that's a nice and unique looking camo. Congrats!

I think the name might be "Ernst Lutner". There is some loss, but I can't think of anything else, given the legible letters.

to add, judging by the shape of the shell, i believe this is a "Duckbill" GBN64

I can not get anymore pictures to load and I see other members of WAF are having the same problem...bummer

Try cropping the images as the photo size limit is quite limited on WAF.

Looks like a great lid, nice to see the lugs filled, apparently to stop whistling in wind.
