    Writing Inside of a Pickelhaube

    Can anyone make out the writing inside of the pickelhaube?

    It looks to me like a regimental designation and a name.

    Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

      What a beautiful untouched Prussian Reserve Infantry Officer Helmet, Congratulations!

      I'll take a guess at the writing: Is it 97 Infantry Regiment? Maybe Chip or someone else who can read it will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong, and also read the officer's name.

        Unfortunately, it was so hastily (or just awkwardly) scribbled that I could not make anything out of it, though I scrutinized it for quite a while.
