I found the attached Army Corps chart on one of our members websites and with Glenn's permission I am posting it. I find it to be useful in making sure the item I am purchasing matches the correct corps marking. For example BA I would be for the 1st Bavarian Army Corp.

While this is a good guide and is perfect for prewar identification, it cannot always be counted on to solve marking questions for wartime pieces. During the course of the war, many units were formed from troops of various corps, therefore causing some interesting markings combinations.

Also, uniforms were re-issued and supplies from clothing stores used for other units that were raised during the war. It is hard to imagine tunics and being reissued but they were... I wonder if the clothing was gathered from the hospitals.
