My friend called me yesterday and told me he had some military stuff to give me, he was clearing out apartment he was renting. He told me on the phone amongst the stuff there was a german looking helmet. I thought it was some junk until he came over and handed me this helmet. I think the shell is original with the original paint but the liner, linerband and splitpins and the chinstrap are reproduction. The helmet has numbers 1296 stamped in the crown and inside the skirt are the letters FI66 or SI66 hard to read. Please give me your thougts on my first Imperial helmet.
