    Shoulder straps

Picked up a few new straps.

    Top: Field Artillery

Bottom: 3 Foot Artillery pieces & a 4th Jager Battalion. Not sure on the red 6, had assumed Stretcher Bearer Company however the color seems different from other examples I've seen.

Minenwerfer detachment 419, MW detachment 230 (cord removed), 122nd Fusiliers (Wurttemberg)

A few!!! That's more than I find in a year. They are nice and all wartime. Congrats!

Picked up these two which I've been looking to add to my collection for a long time.

Flieger Ersatz Abtielung 10 and a 12th Saxon Pioneer Battalion in rough shape. The number has been removed, but I can make out the outline of 12.

I've seen plenty of straps with the numbers pulled, but this is the first Saxon pioneer I have seen this way. I also have a Minenwerfer strap with the unit number pulled.

Are you looking for type pieces or just taking whatever you can find?

          Hi Chip,

I'm mainly picking up type pieces, but frequently go off list.

One other interesting thing about the Saxon is that I can tell the 1 was sewn all the way through to the back of the board while the 2 is not. Perhaps this guy was originally with the 22nd and then transferred to the 12th?

Your theory on the application of numbers on the Saxon strap makes sense in this case. I have, however, seen and own straps where some numbers are sewn through and some are not and it makes no sense.
