Picked up this Baden pickelhaube in Rastatt, Germany over 40 years ago. Could anyone tell me what the helmet is branched to (Pioneer)? I do know that it is an Reservist helm. The chinscales are brass as are the stars on the top. All the other fittings are silver. The cockades are Baden. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply and information. I had another look at the scales. Also, checked on-line for similar references and from them would say that the scales are of the flat type refered to. Not %100 certain though. Further commments would be appreciated.Last edited by Edward; 10-04-2015, 11:41 AM.

If the chinscales are flat as you say, then the helmet is definitely a Baden 14th Pioneer Batallion helmet.
It looks like a very nice helmet, congratulations! You did well picking it up 40+ years ago, and have taken good care of it.
Best Regards,
Alan
