he only need to find a set of original pins to make it a nice worn original garde helmet IMO albeit reassembled, but original.

I have been reading this interesting post since it first came up, but with my poor vision and the photos leaving something to be desired, I couldn't decide whether to jump in on the "favorable" side or not. I liked the shield, it certainly meets all the norms for size, placement, shape, etc., as found in the borderless version.

The "KBAG" stamp has done it for me, coincidence or not. Thanks for spotting that, Chip, I was thrilled to finally see it. I think it is as good as you could expect in a relic Guard helmet, separated liner, missing pins, and all.
