Ok anyone has any suggestion on a forum that might have some knowledge regarding these items?

What I would like to know is
        1. what type of cap this is, is this a pre ww1 jaeger cap from saxony? Its very green ..
        2. Am I correct that the jacket with trousers are for exercise?
        3. What type of jacket is this? Almost all jackets I have seen from WW1 have no breast pockets but this one has, it also has hidden front buttons and not the usual visible row of buttons found on most ww1 jackets.
        4. Is this jacket possibly from another country than German?

To spice things up the lot come with a photo album and one of the pictures shows this jacket and has a text placing it at 1917...

I would really appreciate any opinions

        Thank you

          Hi Bjorn,

Yes, I believe the cap is for a pre war Saxon Jaeger Battalion.

Can't help you with the uniforms though, sorry.

            Hello.

The cap is not for Jaeger Bataillon but for Sachsen feld or fussartllerie or pionier batallions.

            Best regards

Are you sure about that? I thought Sachsen feld or fussartllerie was a darker green like this.

You're right, the cap must be "darkgreen" but for a green and red cap from saxony it's the only possibility.

Now it's difficult to say on those pictures if the cap is original, lining is a bit strange... maybe a theater copy?

                  Best regards

                    Ben,
The two Saxon jager battalions, along with Schutzen ( Fusilier) Regt.nr.108, wore very dark green caps, with black bands and poppy red piping.

                      Hi guys

i think the indoors flash pictures might make the color more green than in reality.
When you look at the picture of the inside it look more dark.

Yes I also think that the inside of the cap looks abit strange

Any thoughts on the uniforms, might be Austrian? Anyone know if there is any forum s specialize in this time period? or are these also bad you think?

                      Cheers!

                        Hello,

The photo shows a foot artillery Friedensuniform on the left. The yellow shoulder straps show up as black in this photo. Neither uniform appears to be that of an officer in the photo. The one on the right has NCO Tresse and what appears to be Offizierstellvertreter stiff shoulder boards.

The light weight jacket and trousers are not Drillich type pieces, but rather summer or warm weather versions. The wool tunic is an officer's Bluse and the breast pockets were tolerated. It's missing the crossed Langgranaten on the shoulder boards.

                          Hi Guys,

I'm now the pleased owner of this set. And I can say set since both uniforms are clearly pictured in the photoalbum. The light weight uniform is easily recognized on the pictures due to small wrinkles, they are still there after almost 100 years. Most pictures are dated and have the place noted.
The cap is probably on the pictures as well but hard to tell since it's all B/w.

There is a note inside the album with writing in Swedish with the same name as in the album. So he probably came to Sweden sometime after the war.

Great feeling unpacking an untouched set like this. Almost 100y old and never before on the market.

PS, nothing is missing on the shoulder boards, it look the same in the album.

                              Here you go.

There was one problem and it was the small ribbon bar. It should be on the light weight instead of the other. So I changed that. You can even make out the ribbon bar on the picture, so it's the same as well. They are looking for more stuff, it should be a longer ribbon bar for the green uniform.
