Are these WWI or WW2 German trousers ???

WW1 era items aren't really my expertise therefore the question whether these trousers are WW1 issue (as the 1917 marking says) or in fact M40 trousers which makes this marking countefeit? No other markings visible.

Subsequently I want to offer them on E-stand.

These are postwar trousers. The short back belt was only seen on private purchase trousers during WWI. The marking is bogus. If someone really wanted to blot it out, they did a poor job (probably on purpose). The back hip pocket was not a standard feature on WWI trousers.

Thank you, I figured as indeed the trousers appear to be standard EM M40 trousers. Guess someone tried to increase the value by adding the stamp.
