Hello!
I recently purchased this helmet and I think it all looks original and correct. The only questionable issue I see is that the liner pin on the wearer's right is one of the thick type for the rear of the helmet. The thick one is there on the rear and the thin one is there on the wearer's left as it should be. Looking at the helmet, it strongly looks as though this was done prior to the camo and that it has been like this a very long time. Is this a legitimate concern or is this simply an example of a soldier using what was available at the time as a replacement. Perhaps the original broke and he picked up what he could find to make the quickest necessary repair. Would this have been a feasible and even common occurence and is this any cause for concern in your experienced opinions?
