Helmet Shell is a Recent Made Reproduction from India.
Rule of Thumb for an Original Pickelhaube body: The Smooth Side of the Leather should ALWAYS be on the INSIDE of the helmet and on the inside of the visors.
The Germans always had the smooth side of the leather on the inside of the helmet, and they had the rough side on the outside of the helmet in order to make better contact with the black finish in order for it to stick onto the outside of the helmet shell.
The black ink stamped making on the underside of the rear visor is also bogus/entirely fake modern era.
The leather liner does not fit properly inside the helmet shell. Notice how the liner is "puckered" up because it it too big for the helmet shell? That is always a dead-giveaway sign that the helmet is bad. The Germans always had the correct fit with the liner inside the helmet shell, and it was not puckered up.

Hi Jerry,
It's always good to see you too, and I'm looking forward to it. The MN show is my 2nd favorite show right after the S.O.S. You never know what just might walk in to be sold at the show.
Looks like bidders are chomping at the bit on eBay Germany to get this one. I guess that if someone doesn't know what to look for, they can be easily fooled.
