    ordensspange WW1

Hi, I bought this konvolut from the family of the guy on the picture. He was officier under WW2 but I was more intrested in his WW1 medals. A lot of pictures were added to this grouping but they are all from WW2. The soldbuch is from another person (his son who died 1944). Personaly I am a NVA collector and I just have a few ww1 and ww2 items at home.
What is the value of the ww1 ordensspange?

What is the name of the officer. Even a last name will help.

Roderich Jerusalem. He was born in Leipzig on 19 Dec 1887. He was Oberstleutnant at the beginning of WW2.

Oj that was weird. There must have been a story behind this but the relatives that I know don't know much about the medal bar (they actually had it kept in a box since the guy died in 1976). I'm a friend of them so I know that it's true. So the guy was keeping medals that was not his... Anyway that's still a nice medal bar. Do you know approximatly the value of such a medal bar? (I'm really not an expert)

              Nice spange.

The order on the right is the Austrian ORDEN DER EISERNEN KRONE. Could you check for gold marks? Also for the Albrechtsorden Ritterkreuz 1.Klasse mit Schwertern und Krone?

Check here for more info on the Albrechtsorden:

Thank you for your replies and infos

I have been talking with the family yesterday. They were quite surprised. But by looking into the diverse papers and talking to the relatives we found out that he was a friend (I don't know how close) of the General Werner Wolfgang Schmidt-Hammer and that they had contact after the war (the general died in 1962). Can it be related to our medal bar in some way?

I will look for markings on the medals soon.

I checked the awards for the General (WWII) and the medal would not have belonged to him. The General was born 1894 and could not have had the Saxon Long Service Award that is on the bar.

Thank you for the check . Another good story that is annihilated by the facts. We will never know who was the real owner .

Here is some close-ups of the medal bar.

The owner of the bar should be identifiable with the awards and award rolls, but I can't find him.

A gorgeous grouping. Best of luck in finding the recipient.
