German M16 Helmet?

I picked up several items while at the Nashville flea market this weekend, and need opinions on one of the German helmets I bought. The dark helmet (on the left) I've posted in the WW2 headgear forum for opinion.



It appears to be the 1916 style shell, which seems to have been painted with decals slapped on the sides and new leather mounted in the helmet's interior.

I'd like to know if this helmet (the metal shell at least) looks right.

I'll post several photos, and I value your opinions.

I appreciate your time and thoughts. I'm hoping that the shell at a minimum is good. If this is a reproduction, is it at least a good one?

you can put your mind at ease, the shell is a very good reproduction

seriously, they are getting close but no cigar...

Oh well!

I paid $75 for it, so can't complain too much over it. Like I'd said, I had sort of hoped that the shell at least might have been good.

I might at some point repaint it to look more like a 1916 pot for personal display in homage to my Opa (pictured here in 1916 as a 16 year old volunteer with the Koenigsberg East Prussian cavalry)
