    Imperial Tunic!

    Good morning!

I would like to share with you this nice piece, found several years ago among the red cross collect. I own this tunic till late 80s and I have ever keep it due its 'been there' looking, even I collect other kind of stuff.

Maybe will be put on Estand, but I don't know which would be is real value. Someone could help me?

Every feedback is warmly appreciate! Thanks in advance!

                Yep, that's true!

Fortunetely only around the collar! Maybe the cloth is more delicious!

                Anybody knows about the value?

                Best,

I have seen damaged Bluse sell on ebay.de for 300-500 Euro. Beside the damage, your tunic has been altered as well. The barrel cuffs are gone, the back and side belt ramps are missing and the hip pocket buttons have been replaced with another style button. Given all that, these still sell.

                      Thanks, Chip!

That's all correct! But about the hip pockets buttons, that are military and from the period, I'm for a substitution done at the time. For a post war use of the jacket the owner would have put another type of buttons, even civilian.
                      Thanks however of your thoughts!

I noticed the buttons on the pocket were wrong I thought maybe it was large late war! If it was not altered you should not see the buttons with the flaps down at all.

I agree that the hip pocket buttons are period and military, but it's pure speculation to imagine how they got there. It seems unlikely to me that both pocket buttons would be lost. More likely they were removed when the other alterations were made in order for them to look "not so military" (that is, without the crowns).

The buttons are just the type they used for the fly and suspender attachment points. But yes they are German Military, just out of place.

You're right! That's all true, but in my experience when something was deprived of military symbols for being used in the civil life, the things that were sewn above were mostly civil. That's true, maybe the buttons was already on the tunic and the sostitution more easy. Of course, I wasn't there when its happened so my are only humble thoughts!

                              Thanks to all! Cheers!
