World War One/Two Fireman helmet?

I was at a local antique show today and picked this little gem up from a dealer who said it had come from a Canadian vet. I know most people disregard the back stories dealers make up but the history books do in fact put the Canadians in the area of Kalkar (Calcar). I know most larger cities used the standard stahlhelm fire helmet but some smaller cities still used ones like the helmet I picked up today, I was wondering if that would be true in this case and was wondering the approximate value of this helmet and if anyone could pass along any more information?

I'm guessing ww1-interwar (1919-1925 at the latest) however it may even be pre ww1

Kalkar was written Calcar up to 1936 (old spelling) so it predates that.

I sent the gentlemen at the current detachment an email so I'm eager to hear back, I will let everyone know what comes of it. Any idea of the value of such a helmet?

I've had this same helmet in the past... typical 1920s/30s vintage ... of more interest to "Fire" Collectors than to German/Military collectors (only exceptions would be those with "Swastikas" included in their front plates)...

I had mine probably 10 years ago and sold it for $140.00 ....was at least as nice, condition-wise, as yours.... value wouldn't have climbed much IMO, maybe $200.00...
