I plucked this helmet out of the Virginia woodwork about two years ago exactly "as is." I'm sure that you can imagine my disappointment about the missing spike! 
Does anybody have - or can anybody direct me to a source of - an appropriate nickel-silver, removable spike for this enlisted man's helmet?
The receptacle at the base of the helmet accommodates a 1/4" thread, but I would happily accept a spike with a different (smaller) diameter thread, if necessary.
