I saw one on ebay in 2006 that looked like this one for 125.00 buy it now. I am still kinking my own arse for not pulling the trigger.
Back then they were not making repros. You guys knew this one posted is a reproduction right?
The fuller is not as pronounced as an original, When you draw it out it has less of the "shhhhhing" noise as an original. Little bit more dull in sound. I cannot check but I am told the screws in the handle are installed backward on the repros.

I guess it is For reenactment.
15 years ago, overhere in Europe, you could only find WW2 US reenactors.
But nowadays, more and more groups that do German (both wars) pop up.
Those repro bayonets sell for 50-60 euro overhere.

I had to use my original for the mannequin display so I needed another one for my re enactor kit.
On the 4th of August I got dressed and took a 4 mile remembrance walk in town along the river and over two bridges in two states. I brought the rifle but had to wear the soft cap as the Steel helmet was not yet invented in 1914 and I had no spiked version. I also carried the Imperial Ensign. A few people knew what I was doing but not many. One older guy saw me as I began the trek and chased me down. He was all excited about it. He was an imperial sympathizer of Prussian family background and he carried the flag for the first segment on the dike.
So I was missing a bayonet so decided on a repro should it ever be needed again.
The weight, I can't tell any difference in weight. It's good to go in that department. The Carvin name has nothing to do with the bayonet it's a shipping box from an amplifier I bought.
