    Any thoughts as to this collar insignia. Looked through my books but no match.

    Bavarian 8th Division unofficial collar badge, I think.

      8th Bavarian Reserve Division. Worn by the divisional troops serving with the Austrian 11.Armee. One man wears that 11.Armee badge on his breast.
