Original and Complete WW1 Pickelhaube ?

    Hi,

I would appreciate some help on this Pickelhaube.
    - Is it all original ? (The chinstrap looks strange)
    - Which period of production?
    - Bavarian?
    - Is it complete?

    Regards,

    Fábio

      Hello,

You have a Bavarian enlisted man's "Eigetumsstück" (private purchase) helmet.

I can' t tell for sure from your photos, but the chinstrap looks like it might be original.

      Here's a link to a thread I started with a similar helmet: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=708195

      Best Regards,

      Alan

          Hello.

Nice helmet. It's not for an enlisted man but for an "unteroffizier" (reich cockade with a added ring).

          Best regards

You have a nice private purchase pickelhaube for a Bavarian Unteroffizier. It's a model 1896 for foot troops (Infantry).
I see nothing wrong with the chinstrap.
