I would lean to this helmet being good on the outside. I don't know about the liner pads, they make me nervous but I would say that liner band has not been removed according to the look of the liner pins bent into place.

Lots of Genuine age and patina. The edge of the visor has complete paint loss you should expect to see. I don't like how the paint has darkened, while it's a common thing to see on fakes and easy to do it does occur on good helmets and I think this one of them. Unless they could fake a helmet that good 40 years ago (because it's REALLY old paint original or not) I would say the camo is good.

Maybe someone can comment on the real liner band stitching, it looks a little thin.

              Doug,

You could have brought the original thread on this helmet back to the top for more "educated" opinions. This helmet was recently discussed. Link that thread to this one... my evaluation has not changed.

I looked for it but only found another helmet with this one added in one photo. Did not know what to make of it.

also, I probably wouldn't know how to attach it if I could.
If someone else can bring it up, I would appreciate it.

I did exactly that in your original thread. Are you fishing for a different outcome because the Dealer who sold you this helmet will not take it back?

SO it's a bad helmet? I did not like the darkend paint but you know it looks better then that one Eric posted.

Nothing is original apart from the steel shell and possibly the interior field gray paint. The camo paint looks to have been artistically applied directly onto the rusted metal surface to give the illusion of age and wear. I have seen two nearly identical versions of this sort of faked camo in-hand. If you look carefully you will see that there is no true wear to the surface and that the aged appearance to the paint is contrived looking. I doubt you will find a layer of factory applied Feldgrau paint underneath the camouflage. The liner pins look like the round-ended prong repros available on Manions in large numbers 15-20 years ago. The liner is a very bad modern reproduction.

                              Hi Chuch
No, I'm not fishing for a different oipinion.
I would appreciate if you wouldn't mind making your comments known again on this thread.
Another member who lives close to the dealer asked me to start a new thread, maybe, because the old thread can't be found..........
I didn't start the original thread and I don't know how to find or link it.
