Genuine1895 Picklehaube Dragoner??

Hi guys, Please excuse my ignorance but is this helmet genuine do you think? I know there's just this one pic but does it look ok? I know nothing about these helmets I'm a WWII helmet guy but might be able to purchase this one if you guys think it might be ok.

This pickelhaube has a strange appearance in this photo, I can't say why, but it looks weird... Can you please post more pictures or at least one of the inside?

Yes tricky from that one pic , I like the crushing to the top but on further inspection there appears to be a lack of quality to the fittings and I am not liking the freshness of the front peak . Rob

I don't like any of it based on those pictures. If original, it would be an earlier model to the M1895. Possible Officer's Private Purchase? Check out Tony's website - The Kaiser's Bunker.

Much better pictures are needed for an honest assessment.

The 'wear' looks odd. Black marks where one would expect sweat stains and not consistent with either wear or display? There are some issues with the liner as well. It is an unusual colour and appears to show no signs of sweat staining.

Also curious is the lack of crazing to the exterior of the shell, particularly having regard to the way it appears to have been stored.

The images posted are not great, but what appears in them is less than comforting.

Unless it has a 'bargain basement' pricetag, eg. a hundred dollars, I would not be taking the punt.

Just my opinion.

Its one of the current higher quality fakes as seen on ebay, this is what you get when you age one up a bit.
Look at construction, stitching, shape of spike etc.
I would go into detail but the fakers are getting enough information from feedback already

Hi guys, Just wanted to finish this thread by saying thank you to all who commented - saved me and saved my cash
There was a rush as the auction was last Tuesday but all's well.
I didn't buy it, didn't like the feel of it in hand, felt very light when I picked it up and inside the liner didn't look right after a good inspection. You guys are great and confirmed what I suspected but as I say being a WWII helmet fellow this one was not my area at all but I have learnt lots and will have just a little more knowledge now.
