    m16/17 helmet

    what do yall think of this piece, is it authentic? I want it to restore so i will remove the camo job but need to know if its good

    i cant copy pictures from website so had to paste link here

      The liner looks repro to me. The shell maybe real--- but under all that paint and in such bad light it could be in relic condition and you wouldn't know it. I'd be starting with something else if it's restoration project.

      Anyhow, bad dealer pics are a massive red flag in any collecting field.

        Same lid was posted on GMIC and left an opinion there its a copy with fake stamps.

          John,

          As Eric said, the shell is not authentic... it's a reproduction. Take a look at where the M91 chinstrap lugs are placed... not even close.

          There are plenty of reasonably priced original M16/17 shells to be found... Don't waste your time and money on this one.

            Those are supplied by 'Easy Green'? perfectly ok and are sold as copies, someone did a bad thing and stamped it. 2014 is our time chum lets be on our toes! lol!

              I'm not from Missouri Eric, but "show me". I've seen Easy Green's work and it is not this bad.

                  the op posted this helm there too, blimey do I speak double dutch , what where is Missouri and what's it got to do with this lid?

                  ps They are fine for a low cost alternative if that's peoples wish, I don't know where the helmet shells come from but they are ok for copies imo. regarding its 'current' camo I've no idea, does it matter?
