This is a loooong shot, i know! So have patience...
A while ago, my uncle scrolled thru the local museums internet database, and he found this cap in their collections.
After looking at the mentioned details, it became clear that it once belonged to one of our relatives. It dates back to 1801, but that means that the owner, our relative, was born in that year. He most likely retrieved the cap later on.
Our family is from northern Sweden, and the Russians visited our hometown in 1808-09 during the "Finnish War", a part of the Napolean Wars.
Some claim that the cap is Russian. But i recently was told that the cap is German, from a Militia-regiment or something like that.
Is any of this likely? Any information will be greatly appreciated!
