German police(?) helmet plate

Does anyone have any knowledge about this pre WWI(?) helmet plate?

the crown looks austrian or it may just be another 60s to 90s repro since it looks too clean

It is not Austrian, but German police, komunalen Exekutivpolizei, used up to 1918 with the crown. Please post a picture of the reverse to check the detail on the inside and how the silver W is attached. At this moment I see no red flags yet, I think it looks nice!

Lugs are removed and the helmet plate is "flattened out" and not curved as it once most likely was shaped after the helmet.

Indeed Prussian Kommunalpolizei.

This style of eagle with silver W can be found on pre 1898 helmets. Later helmets will show a yellow/golden W
