    Totenkopf for Leib Husaren Pelzmütze

    Hi guys.
Found this skull with some other items. My wildest guess is that its not a genuine one and I know these have been heavily reproduced so any thoughts?

    best regards

To me it looks like a real one- the detail is quite good...

        Best regards

            Hussar Totenkopfs

Three different skulls shown. Lower left was bought at the SOS from J.D. Turinetti, upper skull fro a Forum member smaller size.Lower right, and not sure of time line, or it's authenticity, a little over done for a fake though, marked with 'A', Assmann and D.R.G.M. What size is yours? It's looks period with all the detail.

Front shot of the 3, Berra. I like yours, but would like to know the size. Thanks for sharing!

The Assmann marked skull is no original. You can find this skull pattern regularly in auctions.

I knew the Assmann skull was bogus, just wanted to show in comparison with the other items. Wish people would share other Totenkopf's of the same period. Back pictures of said skulls would be appreciated to show mounting techniques. Thanks to all.

hang on why are skulls heavily reproduced?

Because they are so popular in collections.
