A picke question

Hallo, can some expert say to me if the Pickelhaube gray emblem must be magnetic??
I saw that some times many brass parts were repeinted with gray paint and so they are not magnetic, is right???

Many prewar items that would have made good targets were subdued, removed or otherwise camouflaged within months after the war began. Brass belt buckles, Pickelhauben Wappen and other items were often painted over with gray paint. Of course, brass is non-magnetic.
