    Bob,

There are other possibilities besides Garde Schützen. The Saxons also wore this color combination. It was worn by the Schützen Regiment Nr.108 and the three Saxon Jäger battalions.

I'm assuming that there is no maker markings on the inside?

No markings inside. My reference books state that the Saxon dark green is much darker than the Prussian, almost a black-green. So does Tony at the Kaiser's Bunker.
That's why I believe the cap is Garde Schutzen.

Mmm... to be fair, for issued caps, I would say yes, an issued Sachsen Krätzchen is very dark green compared to the Preußen Jäger. However, the Preußen Schützen are quite dark green as well.

For Eigetumsstück headgear though (this includes officers) the colours are all over the map. A green Eigetumsstück Schirmmütze or Tellermütze for example, could go from a light green to a very dark green.

Bob I sent you a PM, I have four very nice caps available.
