    Two Imperial Cavalry caps

I don't believe that these have been posted previously. Officer's caps for the Garde du Corps, and the Bavarian 3rd or 6th Chevaux Leger regiments.

The white with red is just stunning! I can see why people collect the ww1 era visors with such beautiful color schemes. Matt

Yes, the 10 Prussian Kurassier regiments ( two Garde & eight line) , plus the two Saxon Ulan regiments all have white top caps. I love em' all.
Some kurassier caps are usually for sale, but it seems you rarely see the Saxon caps.
They are, of course, among the most expensive Imperial caps.

            Beautiful hats Bob!

I notice that most don't have any bottom ring of piping.

Wow; a superb 25th Wurttemberg Dragoons cap. Good luck!

Ben, I have seven Imperial caps. all officer versions, and only one has contrasting piping to the crown & band. None of the others has a raised lower band, even in the same color as the band, but all have raised upper band piping, in the same color, save the Garde Schutzen, with a black velvet band & red piping.
I assume that's correct, but I never thought of it, i must admit.

You are correct Robert. Unless there is a bottom row of piping that contrasts in colour with the band, the band is sewn on the cap facing down, and then rolled upwards. So there is no bottom piping. The top band piping in the same colour as the band is to finish the sewn band.

The Dragoons cap was auction off today and I just missed out.

If anyone here managed to get it or knows who did, please could you get in contact because I'd really like to obtain it.

                            Hi Bob,

Is that green in the center of the cockade of your Prussian Garde Schutzen cap?

Yes, you know it IS green; I've been meaning to replace it, as it seems to be a replacement.
It's not the style of a Saxon officer's cockade, and the green is not dark enough for a Saxon Schutzen regiment.
I've come to the conclusion that lt's Garde Schutzen, but other opinions are welcome.
