WWI GERMAN FIELD MITTENS...(and LARGER LOT)

Hello forum. These were a "first" for me...a pair of WWI German heavy field "mittens", c/w their original leather thong-type keepers. I found them amongst a larger lot WWI souvenirs, . A couple pix of the mittens below...They're in nice shape w/ ink stampings and the leather thongs are luckily still intact.

      Hi Milton,

Nice worn examples. Not easy to find either! I have a pair that have a full lining, rather than the the ring of lining around the inside cuff, as yours have. Mine are marked too, but the stamping is illegible.

Can you make anything out of the marking on yours? I think mine is a maker mark, rather than a Bekleidungsamt stamp.

Hi Chip. Thanks for commenting. I can't really make out anything legible but honestly haven't tried that hard. Next time I get a chance, I'll have a closer look at them. Thanks again for your interest.

Very nice and scarce only examples I've seen show the regular Korps stamps.

Thanks for commenting Eric. I'll endeavor to make some more photos of them at my next opportunity if time allows.
