There was eventually more than one Flottille Flandern, so I suspect that they would have been numbered on the tallies.

There were many U-Boot Flottillen, but I am not sure whether the Flandern ones are any more sought after than the rest. There are books on the subject that give lists of the possibilities.

Here is a link to a website that lists the U-Boot Flottillen,

I asked on the German WWI forum concerning your question and got the following reply from Bernd Wedekind, who wrote a book on the subject of Mützenbänder. This is my translation.

"The non-commissioned officers and enlisted men of the garrison of the U-Boots which were stationed in Oostende and Zeebrügge wore (at first) cap ribbons with "Kaiserliches Marinekorps".

On the 13th March, 1916, the general command of the naval corps at the imperial marine office in Berlin proposed that the members have the right to wear the ribbon "Unterseeboots=Flottille Flandern (as they commonly were known) on the anniversary of their first year of existence on the 29th March, 1916.

This application was approved. Privately purchased variations existed before the official approval, but also afterward due to a lack of supplies on the part of Wilhelmshaven Bekleidungsamt."
