1917 FIeld Glasse Sold By Chemist 1922

Nice find i managed to pick up yesterday at a local fair. These appear to be a 1917 dated pair of Ziess field glass in there original leather carry case that were sold by a Bristol Chemist in 1922. The whole lot are in fantastic condition and appear to have never had much use. The top label has had British instructions glued over the original German paper label, the German instructions can be seen under the British one. Also the original reciept dated 1922 was found inside the carry case. Im pressuming that postwar these Glasses were bought and sold to the private market here in Britian, this Bristol chemist being one outlet. All comments welcome folks, cheers Pete.

Manufactured in April 1917. Hard to find this complete with the eye piece protector/cover and leather tunic button attachment. Also, Zeiss is not one of the more common manufacturers.

These binos are generally one of the dime-a-dozen items as they were no doubt very popular bring-back items and I would assume a zillion of them found their way into overseas markets following the war as the Bristol druggist's label attests. However, this is indeed an unusually nice set in terms of completeness and condition. Congrats...nice find!

Very nice example of an '08. I have never seen a Zeiss made 08 so thanks for sharing!
