ww1 pilot overcoat?

hi I bought this awhile ago and the person claimed it was a ww1 pilots overcoat although he wasn't sure which country although personaly I believe if it is its probably German from the way it looks the seller told me when I bought it that all the buttons had been replaced at one point in time or another and he also said when he purchased it it came with a ww2 Luftwaffe overcoat, but help would be great thanks!

The pictures aren't really good enough to give more than a general impression. Most of these were privately purchased and therefore came in various styles. Are there any provisions for shoulder boards? If not, I would say that chances are it is just a civilian coat. Perhaps some more information might make for a better assessment.

im not able to get better pics of it at the moment because my camera isn't working but looking at it im pretty certain shoulder boards have never been on it and it doesn't look like they could be attached either
