    German Hat for Mountaineer war 1 ???

    Hi guys you have to help me! To what hat is this? It's a hat for montain- infantry of the 1st World War? Or is it a waste? Please me helt continue! Thanks and regards the Tiger

    Looks like a post war civilian type hat. Worn by a German veteran but inspired by the Italian alpini hat? That is my best guess. To my knowledge it is not any type of official uniform hat of any army...or period. Still it is a cool looking piece.

      The cockade is just an example from an enlisted Feldmütze. It has nothing to do with this hat. I agree that the hat is some sort of alpine civilian type piece.

        I would say with the cut and floppy brim it probably also is a Woman's hat.

          In my opinion from the Imperial youth organization Jung-Deutschland founded in 1911.

          Main interest was military training of the German youth.

            I think the old Pfadfinder or Wandervogel wore such a hat as well.
