This nut (yours truly) just plonked out close to $500 on a canteen. I can't help it, my love of field gear remains undiminished or 'unrelieved suffering' more like it I suppose.

I'm not going to lie, that's really cool. Is it odd to say that it looks... colorful? Very nice contrasts of materials.

My budget dictates that I wouldn't pay that much, but I know I've spent similar amounts on things others might give me funny looks over (I'm not giving you funny looks, honest!!!).

hello,yes 500 is a lot,but ,y must say ,y have also one and that lady was round the 375 dollar,so pricely is not tooooooooooo mutsch the 500,because the glass ones are soooooooooooooooo rare,and they are so 1918 ,and at the end the mony spend we forgett,but the piece stays,
and it is a wunderfull piece,

Very nice. If the value was driven soley on rarity and if SS Generals Visor caps were the baseline of the currency.....then your canteen would really be worth around $75,000, so in that sense you stole it!
