    Blue imperial uniform, Authenticity check.

Saw this tunic recently. Some details look nice, others look sketchy to my untrained eye. Patina on the buttons looks nice, but the collar and cuff tress looks funny to me, but I don't know a whole lot about these.

    What do you think?

It appears to be the same as this one, yes?

Edit: what do you think a fair price would be?

      Hottoddy,

It does appear to be the same tunic with the same problems. The Württemberg I.R. 126 did not have the Litzen on the collar and cuffs.

Is the interior of this one the same as the one you referenced from an earlier thread?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes, but I asked for more pictures to be sure. There is a little white flaw above the button on the right (pictured) shoulder board, which appears in both pictures.

I'd actually be surprised if they turned out to be different tunics.

It's the same tunic. They both have the same spot or stain on the bottom-left portion of the collar litzen. This jacket really gets around; this is the third place I've seen it up for sale.

If the price is right, I might go for it. At the same time, it's getting passed around like no one wants it. That, at the very least, makes me hesitate.

At what price would you folks feel comfortable buying it?

Well, there's a pretty good reason why it keeps getting passed around. Namely, the shoulder boards don't match the rest of the tunic, as was pointed out in the previous thread. Why get a Dünkelblauer that has been messed with when there is so many more out there that no one seems to want? (Although, the prices have been going up as of late.)

                Good point!

The venues I search don't usually have these sorts of things, so I was interested in picking up something unusual (for me).

I agree they are kind of hard to find, which is too bad. I think it's just because no one was interested in them for so long. A good friend of mine said that we he was in Germany in the 1970s, they couldn't give these things away for 20 Marks! One shudders to think how many ended up in rag bags.

Keep an eye on German Ebay. Bargains don't come up too often, but you will see a handful of these up there at any one time. One from the Garde Fusilier Regiment just went for a relatively bargain price a couple days ago.
