Agreed, nice to see a 71/84 bayonet with a matching unit. Any of these seem tough to find and I was on a quest after picking up a rifle. Mine is mismatched but at least both are from Bavarian units. I still haven't done any research on the units.

A question, the unit marking indicates 14th company, would this be a reserve company, making the wearer of this bayonet possibly a senior staff NCO, hence a portepee rather than troddel?
Willi, another bonus regarding your example and Stefan's bayonet is that they have not been modified by having the muzzle-rings ground away. My issue example is also mis-matched but has its muzzle-ring as well.
If you all don't mind, here are two from our collection...

and here a sawback version, but perhaps for export as it is without any issue marks, only the makers name.
