WWI army mountain boots?

Those came out of an old shoemakers shop, the owner stated they are german mountain boots from WWI - any ideas?

Swiss and german mountaineering boots look very similar(some germans wore swiss boots)...are there any other markings anywhere on the leather or anywhere else on the boots? Seems there is a small circular mark below the middle stud of the heels on each(between two nail holes) Maybe By tweaking the light in photoshop that may show what the mark is.

Normally, WWI issue mountain shoes (Bergschuhe) had wool collars around the top of the ankle, a different pattern of climbing cleat, a pull-on loop at the back of the shoe and hobnails on the soles. Based on this, I would say these are quite possibly WWII era mountain shoes.

WWI Bergschuhe are shown on page 218 of Jürgen Kraus' book. I own a pair of them and they are marked on the inside shaft of the shoe with a Bekleidungsamt stamp with the date.

For sure NOT - THIS are swiss boots:

I have a pair of these too.
Both came from the same source (in Austria) and both pairs were stated to be Swiss, post-war and priced accordingly.
I would love for them to be German (or Austrian) and war-time, but I'm pretty sure that the seller in Austria would have known the difference.
In any event, $20 each would seem a good price.
