Garde Ulanen Items

I have developed an interest in Garde Ulanen items and have grabbed a few things. Sorry for the lousy lighting and small camera. The EM and Officer Ulankas, and sword, are to the 1st Guard Uhlan Regiment, while the named Tschapka is to the 3rd Regiment. The Prussian M1850 pistol was carried by the Uhlans until the mid-1870s.

Wow, great stuff! The Uhlan ulanka in Dünkelblau is the best-looking uniform that the German Empire had (next to the regular Infanterie tunic) IMHO.

Funny how the Uhlan were the only ones to have the ribbon bars on the right side (but the left side on the parade rabat). I wonder why?

It's funny, but back in the 1980's and before you could have said the exact opposite. There was much less interest in Feldgrau.

I agree. I hope to get a few things from the Garde Regiments zu Fuss as well; mainly the 1st if I can.

Nice items Tony! I viewed your website when doing some research before I jumped into Imperial. This is all new to me and there is much to learn.
