    Still kicking myself.

    It was on German Helmets for over a week a few years ago. I could have bought it but I let it go. Looking back I should have.

    Hate it when that happens.

        I would not feel too bad, that is one of the early ones and they had a tendency to crack due to manufacturing defects, and if you owned it, I would have to hate you.

                Thanks William for letting me start the day thinking of this lid again!!
                Bought for $1500 which was a LOT at the time, sold it for 2K. Three years later had a chance to buy it back but baulked at the price. Lord knows where it is now.
                Documented collector history since 1923 (which has probably been lost by now). Complete beautiful undamaged liner/chinstrap. Last I heard someone paid $5500 for it. But that's not the point, I've never seen a better example.
