    P08 luger holster

    Hi,

I have a question regarding the equipment worn in the field by the German hussar officers during the first days of the War of 14-18.
Did they use a brown leather P08 Luger holster on their M1910 brocade belt?

Hi Richard, I'm pretty sure that all WW1 holsters were brown ( I could be wrong ) Regards Toby.

I would have thought if a Luger was worn in the field by an officer, it would have been on a leather (with roller buckle) belt.

All (new) leather items were ordered to be blackened in September of 1915. This did not always happen in practice, but I would think a blackened Luger holster made after this date could legitimately be called a WWI piece.
