I am a TR collector, recently moving into swords. This is a sword I recently picked up and I hope it is of interest to Imperial collectors.
It looks as though the original owner has had a TR (Alex Coppell, I think) knuckle bow etc. added to his Imperial blade, but it is really this which attracted me to the sword.
The blade has two blued panels, the interesting one being the 'Schles. Train Bataillon No. 6' which I now find was part of the VI Armeekorps based in Breslau. The other nice thing about the sword is the knot, which has the correct blue and red stripes for this battalion, and looks to be of the right age and wear!
This is only my basic knowledge of this sword and the history, but any more info would be greatly appreciated.
I may say that having bought this I see myself looking for other Imperial engraved blade swords rather than ordinary TR ones!
